What does our neighborhood sound like?

Every neighborhood has a sound. Not just the cars driving by but the music being made in bedrooms, in home studios. Right here in 90065, there are musicians making incredible things that their neighbors have never heard.

The Zip Code Project is a community music anthology. The idea is simple: find musicians who live in our zip code, record one song from each of them, and release it as a collection. No single genre. Just the honest, diverse sound of 90065.

How It Works

You bring the song. It can be something you’ve been working on or something brand new. Any genre, any style.

I’ll produce and record it. My name is Jonathan. I’ve been recording and producing music for over 20 years. I’ll work with you to capture your song the way you want it to sound.

We release it together. The finished collection goes out on digital platforms. If it generates any revenue, it gets shared among all the contributors. No one owns your music but you.
